Briget Gurton has over 15 years’ experience working as a Psychologist in both government and private sectors. Briget specialises in providing training, consultation and assessment to both parents and carers, as well as agencies. She has extensive experience in working within the child protection field. She is motivated by the belief that all children should receive the best possible care. Briget strives to undertake assessments based on best practice principles, centred on the needs of the child or young person.
In a therapeutic setting, Briget’s area of expertise includes child development, behaviour management, and parenting support.
Briget is well known for her personable and open manner and she is passionate about working alongside clients to ensure that they do not feel patronised or belittled – an attitude cultivated through her extensive experience working with FACS as well as families where a child has a disability.
Briget is currently on the panel of Non-Contracted Adoption Assessors for FACS. She is also an accredited Family Group Conference Facilitator.
